Applied Kinesiology (AK) is an assessment approach some of our chiropractors use to help guide care.
It involves observing how muscles respond to light pressure while different areas of the body are contacted. This may provide additional information that can be considered alongside standard chiropractic assessment.
During your visit, your chiropractor may gently test a muscle while assessing different areas of your spine or body. Changes in muscle response are used as part of an overall assessment to help guide an individualised care approach.
This method may also be used following an adjustment as part of reassessment.
Applied Kinesiology is used alongside standard chiropractic examination and contributes to a broader understanding of musculoskeletal function and movement.
Assessment and care are tailored to each individual. Chiropractic care focuses on the musculoskeletal system and individual responses may vary.
